Packing Essentials for Travel

After traveling to 35+ countries and spending months on the road at a time, we have learned a thing or two about some key items that truly make a difference while you are traveling. At our core, we are minimalist travelers, but below are some items that we don’t travel without!

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER

If you ever decide to purchase something from this list, consider coming back to the website and first clicking on our link prior to purchasing. When you do this, we receive an average of 5% and this greatly helps support our channel! Actually, we receive ~5% of anything you end up buying on Amazon within a 24 hour window of clicking on one of our Amazon links! We greatly appreciate you supporting our channel in this small way!

Packing Essentials

Fantastic suitcase with whisper quiet wheels, strong handle and good wheels. Comes with a lifetime warrenty.

A packing must, keep things organized and compressed. The zippers are really strong on these packing bags, which is crucial with this design. We highly recommend these compression packing cubes.

So we probably have gone through half a dozen different brands of wall adapters, finding the right one. Often it comes down to size, as a lot of these adapters are way too large. But this one in particular is both compact and has a lot of great features, you can charge multiple mobile devices on USB while also using a wall charger. We normally travel with 2-3 of these (but we have a lot of camera equipment to charge)

So I don’t endorse too many products… Again, we are minimalist by nature… but these headphones are worth every penny and more. They are bulky and large, which is the only downside, but personally, I will always save room in my carry-on for these headphones, and I don’t leave home without them.

We use these bags EVERY time we travel. Honestly these bags probably allow us to cut down our luggage by at least one carry on. We are always amazing how much space these things save. Eventually we need to do a packing video to show how much better packing is with these vacuum storage bags.

If you ever have watched one of our travel videos where we show how we fly with kids, you will notice that both Alexa and Chloe travel with a Kindle Fire. These things are fantastic, and are kid proof (believe me… they are rough on them, haha.) You are able to control the content they view, and there are so many educational games that you can load them up with.

What I like about these headphones is that the cable is braided and well protected. The problem with most affordable kids headphones is that the cables break so easily, especially as they are smashed around in packing. But these headphones have held up pretty well so far (although I promise they will break eventually with these kids, haha.)

You are constantly learning so much while traveling, and it is so easy to forget. So I always try to bring a notebook with me, and I have always been partial to the Moleskin brand. They have a large variety of notebooks, but I love how they feel, the covers always have a fantastic texture to them. That might be weird, but oh well, it keeps me coming back to them.

The girls love these eye masks and it definitely helps them sleep on planes. They even have started sleeping with them in our airbnbs and at home while we aren’t traveling. But it always is a super cute way to help them sleep while traveling!

Ok… so yeah… this isn’t a “Packing” Tip… but it is an awesome Travel Tip. Hacking Free flights is a critical part of us being able to travel as frequently as we do. The link above will take you to a credit card application for a card that we currently use to rack up travel credits. When you sign up you will get a bonus offer of 20,000 chase bonus points, just after spending only $500. These bonus points can then be transferred to United and used to towards a flight valued at up to $500. Pretty simple, yeah?

Did I mention there is ZERO annual fee on this card? Free money! haha. Also… if you sign up, we get a $100 bonus towards our next flight 🙂 WIN WIN!
